To showcase the best of Pakistani Ecosystem, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Punjab
Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) have taken the opportunity to showcase the best of Pakistan’s IT
industry at Expo 2020 Dubai. As a part of the event, a panel discussion is being hosted by the Government of Punjab at the expo where the Startup Ecosystem of Pakistan will be highlighted. The Chief Minister of Punjab will also be gracing with his presence.
The profiles of the moderator and panelists are as follows:
RAJA YASSIR HUMANYUN
MINISTER IT PUNJAB
Mr. Yassir Humayun has a degree in Computer and Information Systems from university of Florida, USA.
He an educationist and a businessman and is currently serving as the Minister Higher Education for
Punjab. He has previously served as the Minister for Higher Education and Tourism.
AZFAR MANZOOR
CHAIRMAN PITB
Mr. Azfar holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences respectively from
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA and an MBA from LUMS, Pakistan. He has twenty five plus
years of diverse experience in public and private sector. His public sector career spans over eighteen
years including field assignments and secretariat positions in Planning & Development, Finance and
social sectors. He has also worked for various multinational companies in the ICT domain.
JEHAN ARA
FOUNDER AND CEO KATALYST LABS
Ms. Jehan is a major contributor towards the Pakistani tech industry since over 2 decades. She was the
founder of Nest I/O, a prominent technology incubator and is currently the Founder and CEO at Katalyst
Labs, an accelerator program. She has also served as President of Pakistan Software Houses Association
and is also member of Prime Minister’s Taskforce on IT and Telecommunication.
BADAR KHUSHNOOD
CO-FOUNDER AND VP FISHRY
Mr. Badar has over two decades’ experience within the domains of technology and marketing. He has
worked for Google, Twitter and Facebook in the past and is currently the cofounder and partner at
Bramerz in addition to being a co-founder at Fishry. He is currently also serving as the chairman of
P@SHA
FAISAL AFTAB
CO-FOUNDER ZAYN CAPITAL
Mr. Faisal has an MBA from Oxford University, joint Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Michigan
State University USA. He has also been an investor in Hedge Funds, Venture Capital Funds and an
active Angel Investor for over 15 years. Faisal is a limited partner of the Silicon Valley-based Venture
Capital Fund 500 Startups.
Faisal is a Co-Founder of Zayn Capital; He is the Managing Partner of Zayn Capital Frontier Fund, a venture capital fund with a primary focus on seed and growth stage ventures in Pakistan.
Previously, Faisal was a founding team member of Lakson Venture Capital (Lakson VC); he built the
fund from the ground up and led the team as Managing Partner & Executive Director.
KHURRAM ZAFAR (MODERATOR)
Mr. Khurram is a holds a degree in Computer Sciences from McGill University, Canada. He is Director of
47 Ventures, a international VC fund for Pakistani startups. In the past he has been involved with National Incubation Centre Lahore as well as consulted with the government on multiple projects. He is
also a Member of Prime Minister’s Task Force on Technology Driven Knowledge Economy
